We are back home from Florida.
It was a short trip that makes
me yearn for a REAL vacation!
But that is coming soon enough,
as we take off on our road trip
to our Colorado Mountain home this Saturday!
YAY!
Last year it was a family trip
with all of Mr. Beaux's side
of the family in attendance.
This year it is couples only with
his brothers and their wives.
It is always hard to gather everyone together.
I'm really looking forward to a relaxing, fun time!
I wanted to quickly share
my new lamps with you before
I get busy packing for the trip.
Remember the Estate Sale adventure
that I told you about with my BFF last Saturday?
 Well, remember that Saturday
is usually Half-Off day?
In this case is was kind of buy one get one free!
We found these cute lamps in the
Master Bedroom of an adorable Frenchy
home where I also found some pretty
Blue and White pieces.
They are cast plaster with gilding
on the details and such a great faded blue color.
 Even the shades are perfect!
Whoops the price tag is still on this one!
They were $55.00 a piece but
of course I only paid that amount
for both of them.
Maybe they didn't sell because
of the chips on this lamp.
But it didn't bother me, I can touch them up.
The tag on the bottom reads "Borghese".
I looked it up and I found out
that the Borghese company manufactured
decorative cast plaster items from
the beginning of the 20th century until 1970.
You can read more about it HERE.
When I read the beginning paragraph
I had to laugh -
"Years ago at an indoor antiques fair in New England, I found an incredibly beautiful cast plaster urn shaped lamp base. It was robin's egg blue with gilded highlights and the patina was a knockout."
It was as if he were describing these very lamps!
Of course you know that I don't really care
about the value of the lamps.
I just buy what I like and what I can afford.
But, I do like knowing the history behind it all.

Hey, side-note:
See the orchid in the picture?
It is from Decor Steals
and it came in the mail the other day.
I put it in a clear short vase
from the dollar store with some green moss.
Looks pretty real doesn't it?
And, I don't have to water it!

Until Next Time,
Beaux R'eves,
