New Kitchen Decorating 2015: strawberry angelfood cake

text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;">but this cake was my own creation </span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;">(out of necessity which I understand is the mother of invention right?) so I thought I would share it with you.</span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;"><b>  Here is the scenario: </b> It was my girlfriends birthday </span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;">last Wednesday.  We were going out to dinner </span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;">and you know how that is... </span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;">You end up eating too much</span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;"> and then you aren't hungry for dessert. </span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;"> Plus, they celebrated with a cake at lunch at her office.  </span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;">I had been running around all day and didn't have time</span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;"> to really "Bake" a cake. </span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;"> I ran to the grocery store</span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;"> and picked up an Angel food cake, some Lemon Curd in a jar, fresh Strawberries, and some Heavy Whipping Cream. </span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;"> The other ingredients I had on hand.  </span></i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;">tunneled out the inside for the filling. </span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;"> I placed the mixing bowl for my KitchenAid Standing Mixer and the whisk attachment in the freezer for 15 minutes. </span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;"> I  put in two cups of Heavy Cream into the mixing bowl </span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;">with 1 tablespoon of Powdered Sugar and</span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;"> 1 tablespoon of Vanilla Extract.  </span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;">Whisk it up until soft peaks form and then spoon in 1/2 a jar of the Lemon Curd into the whipped cream. </span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;"> This is the<b> best </b>filling you will ever taste!!!</span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;">  Very lemony and not too sweet.</span></i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;"> place the top of the cake back on. </span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;"> Now mix up another batch of Whipped Cream without the Lemon Curd and use that for the Frosting. </span></i></div><div style="color: #999999; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;"> Take the stems out of the Strawberries and slice them in half.  Arrange them around the cake and on the top.</span></i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;
