It was a beautiful day today
and we spent most of it outside
working on Spring Cleanup.

Nothing is more satisfying to me
than stepping back on the curb
after a long day of yard work
and admiring your home.
Yes, it's a lot of work
but the Exterior of your home
is as important as the Interior,
especially if your home is for sale!

If you have been following along
with my Home Staging Series
we have talked all about Staging the Interior
of your home.
We have
Decluttered
Lightened and Brightened
Accessorized
and learned the importance of
Professional Photography.

If you are listing your home this Spring
don't forget about the First Impression
of the Exteriorof your home.

Is your home in need of painting?
Nothing scares potential buyers
more than peeling paint.
Now is a good time to take a hard look
at the front door,
paint and trim on your home.
Imagine that you are the buyer.
Standing at the front door is the first "up close"
look at your home.
Make sure that it is meticulously clean
and that the paint is in good condition.

Are you shortchanging the architecture
of your home with the wrong color scheme?

Now the beautiful details
above the arched entry
show up
along with the curved stairway.

 Sometimes, you can get away
with only freshening up the trim paint
and the front door.
That would be the least expensive
way to ensure your home
looks crisp and in good condition.

Is your landscaping looking a little dreary
and lackluster after the harsh,
cold winter that we had this year?
It wouldn't take much
to dress up this home before listing it.

New shutters, a neutral paint scheme,
and a new bed with mulch and small plants
can really make a huge difference.
Small plants are inexpensive and give that
"New Home" look to a not so new home.
Remember that if your plants are overgrown
they need to be trimmed
so that your home really shows at it's best!

You don't have to spend
a lot of money to make a big impact
in the front of your home.

Keep your lawn mowed weekly,
sweep all of your walkways, porches and patios,
reduce any clutter that you have, like children's toys,
pressure wash your deck and driveway if needed,
and add a few flowers in pots
and in the front beds for color.

 Then you can make this...
