Happy Labor Day Everyone!
I hope you all got a chance to relax and enjoy this unofficial end of the summer holiday.  We spent the weekend laboring up at our Colorado home.  We have been renting it out through a property management company for about eight months now.  There were a few big repairs to be made
- plumbing issues-
and a lot of small repairs that we could handle ourselves.
While we were out at the new Lowe's
(Yes, I was so excited to go to the new Lowe's)
we spotted a Habitat for Humanity Restore.  I talked Mr. Beaux into stopping in for a look.  I was imagining a lot of building and plumbing supplies like in our local store, but this store was mostly furniture.  We browsed around and I spotted a few good finds.

Beautiful print for the Great Room, only $35.00.

A really nice table for behind the sofa to replace the iron and glass one that the previous owners had left for us.
I hated dusting it all the time.
Old table: (we ended up donating this one)
New table.  It was in great condition and it was a steal!
You might think that $160 is too much, but you also have to consider that this is in the High Country...  That means High prices too!!!
But our best find was two benches that were scratched and dated looking.  While we were talking to the couple that run the store we found out that benches sell like hotcakes.
  I can imagine why!
Lots of uses for benches in ski country.
Look at how scratched up the top is!
They were very substantial and  sturdy, and
only $40 apiece.
Mr. Beaux sanded down both tops with his palm sander.  Looking better already!
I made up my own concoction of  Chalk Paint by adding a small amount of  Unsanded Grout to Flat White Paint.  I wasn't sure that I liked the outcome of the first coat.  It was very thick and got thicker as time passed.  So I painted the second coat with the Flat Paint alone.
It looked much better.
 What do you think?
I found some pillows at Tuesday Morning (another newly opened store) on clearance.  Buy one on clearance and get one 50% off.  I love Labor Day Deals!  The throw is a Pendleton blanket that we found at the outlets in Monterrey.
We stained the top with two coats of Minwax stain in Provencial and then Polyed the top with two coats of Gloss Polyurethane.
I want to antique the white with wax but I will have to get to that next time we are up there.
Hey, any excuse to go back right?
 And flanking the other window...
I'm going to be showing you some of the other projects that we tackled during the weekend and also give you a tour of our very special second home in the mountains of Colorado.

Until Next Time,
Beaux R'eves,
XO Cindy
